This policy explains how Carfellaz Ltd (“Carfellaz”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses your personal information when you visit our website, contact us or use our services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information in line with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Information we collect

We only collect the information we need. This may include:

  • Details you give us when you send an enquiry, request a call back, email or phone us: your name, telephone number, email address, vehicle details, the best time to call you and anything you tell us in your message.
  • Service records if you become a customer: your vehicle registration, make and model, the work carried out, quotes, invoices and payment records.
  • Technical information collected automatically when you visit our website, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This is logged by our hosting provider for security and to keep the site running.
  • Cookies, as described in our cookie policy.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry, call you back, provide quotes and email you a confirmation of your enquiry.
  • To carry out work on your vehicle and manage bookings, invoices and payments.
  • To keep records we are legally required to keep, such as accounting records.
  • To keep our website secure and working properly.

We will never sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.

Our lawful basis

  • Contract: where we need your information to give you a quote or carry out work you have asked for.
  • Legitimate interests: to respond to enquiries, run our business and keep our website secure, where this does not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where we must keep records, for example for tax purposes.
  • Consent: for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run our business and website, and only as far as they need it. These include our website hosting provider, our email provider (which delivers enquiries from the website to us) and, if you allow it, Google (for the embedded map). If you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, your messages are handled by WhatsApp (part of Meta) under its own privacy policy. We may also share information where required by law.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 12 months if no work goes ahead. We keep customer and service records for as long as we need them to provide our services and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, typically six years. After that, we securely delete them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it;
  • ask us to transfer your information to another organisation;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
